annara-sumanara: Idols are humans too, and you know? Humans have something called dignity.
Soooo I started watching AKBINGO recently, and Minami Minegishi quickly became one of my favorites from AKB48. Considering how large and confusing the franchise is, I went to Wikipedia to find out their history, and found out this had happened just this past January.
I just… this is the reason why I stopped supporting Morning Musume. a few years back. It’s just… words cannot express how disgusted I am with the Idol industry. These underage girls are paraded around in bikinis, lingerie, and school girl outfits, put in adult poses and situations, yet at the same time are forced to adhere to a ‘pure’ and ‘virginal’ image, all for the sale of records. It is just one of the most degrading things I can think of for women.
It just needs to stop. As the person quoted said above, Idols are humans, and should be treated with respect and dignity, not as some kind of sexual product for men.
"Has any male idol been removed from a band for dating? Has any male idol felt so guilty about dating that they had to shave their head and/or make a video to apologize to the fans? She shouldn’t feel that she had to go that far for forgiveness. The No Dating rule is probably illegal.
LOOK at the problem. STOP excusing culture.
It’s OK to support Miichan but its not OK to defend the actions taken to ‘fix’ the ‘problem’.”
